How do I choose the right surgeon for my facelift?

Choosing a plastic surgeon can be daunting. The best path is to seek a board-certified surgeon who specializes in facial procedures, and who performs facelifts regularly. They should be a good listener who doesn’t rush or judge you; you should feel comfortable with them and confident in their expertise. Take a look at their patient before and after photos to see if your tastes align. At C + Co Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics, we are a team of women who know how it feels to age. With us, you can feel confident that you are heard and seen.

Do I need surgery to look younger?

While surgery offers the most complete correction possible, facial rejuvenation can and should happen in a variety of ways. Neuromodulators like BOTOX and the use of dermal fillers can significantly reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Laser treatments and Chemical peels can give you healthy, blemish-free skin. Dr. Chance and her expert team can explain the various ways you can achieve the look you want, with or without surgery.

I feel bad about wanting plastic surgery, is that normal?

Absolutely. And you are not alone! Many women disdain plastic surgery until they experience firsthand how uncomfortable it can be when your look doesn’t match how you feel inside. However, there are many effective alternatives to surgery. Dr. Chance will listen to your cosmetic hopes and insecurities with a gentle and understanding ear; after all, she knows how it feels too. Once she understands your needs, she’ll explain what options are available to you, and the pros and cons of each. This way, you can make an educated decision with confidence.

Will people be able to tell that I had work done?

The hallmark of great plastic surgery is that it is undetectable to the untrained eye. To achieve seamless and natural-looking results, consult a specialist who has a proven track record. With Dr. Chance, you can expect to look younger and more vibrant without looking distorted or overdone.

Will I be asked to sign up for additional procedures or products?

At C + Co Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics, we mindfully diverge from the way standard plastic surgery practices function. We are an elevated, patient-forward practice that is service oriented. This means that you won’t ever be pressured into purchasing any service or product when in our care.

Can I see Dr. Chance even if I live out of state?

Absolutely! In fact, 80% of our patients travel to our facilities in Charlottesville, Virginia. Because our modern approach is so unique, patients seek us out over their local options. Dr. Chance’s results rival top surgeons in major cities; with Dr. Chance, however, you won’t pay big city prices for local accommodations.

Can I get BOTOX before my surgery?

If you’re scheduled for a deep plane facelift or a neck lift: proceed with your BOTOX treatment as usual. There is no need to have a gap. If you’re undergoing an eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or a browlift, please refrain from BOTOX treatments starting 3 months before your surgery.

Can I get dermal fillers before surgery?

Please refrain from any dermal filler 6 months before surgery. Dr. Chance may recommend dissolving some or all of your dermal fillers in the month leading to surgery, depending on their appearance, amount, and location.

Is it okay to continue microneedling before my procedure?

If you are undergoing a deep plane facelift or a neck lift, there are absolutely no issues with microblading. You can microblade up until 2 weeks prior to your procedure. For those seeking eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or a browlift, please avoid microblading before your procedure. If you currently have microbladed brows, avoid touch-ups within 6 months of your procedure.

Can I do facial fractionated Co2 laser resurfacing before my procedure?

Dr. Chance is an advocate of anti-aging Co2 laser resurfacing. Laser resurfacing can occur anytime up to 6 weeks prior to your surgery. However, you should not pursue facial IPL or vascular laser treatments in the 6 weeks before your procedure.
